If you’re planning a trip to Kanchanaburi, Thailand, let me just say this: it’s one of those places that surprises you. Most people know it for the River Kwai Bridge and WWII history, but Kanchanaburi is also full of peaceful riverside views, unique cafés, and a slow, local vibe that feels completely different from Bangkok.

I recently visited Kanchanaburi and explored a mix of famous landmarks and hidden gems — including the Sky Walk, a super cute garden café, and even a giant rain tree with monkeys hanging out nearby.

1) Kanchanaburi Sky Walk (Glass Walkway With River Views)

The Kanchanaburi Sky Walk is one of the newest attractions in the city, and honestly… it’s such a cool way to start the day. It’s a glass walkway built high above the river, so you get a wide view over the water, the surrounding town, and the mountains in the distance.

Why I liked it:

• Super easy to access (no hiking required)

2) River Kwai Bridge (The Most Famous Landmark in Kanchanaburi)

You can’t visit Kanchanaburi without stopping at the Bridge over the River Kwai. Standing on the bridge feels powerful — it’s one of Thailand’s most important WWII landmarks and part of the story of the Death Railway.

You can walk across the bridge and watch trains pass by (yes, real trains still run here). The whole area is also filled with little stalls, cafés, and places to sit and enjoy the view.

5) Kappa Garden Farm & Café (The Cutest Hidden Gem + You Can Ride a Horse!)

If you love cafés, gardens, or just relaxing somewhere pretty — you’ll love Kappa Garden Farm and Café. This was one of my favorite places on the trip because it feels like a peaceful little escape surrounded by greenery.

But what makes this place even more special? You can actually ride a horse here. Yes, really. It’s not something you expect to find in Kanchanaburi, which makes it even more fun. The horse riding area adds a unique farm-style experience that’s great for both adults and kids.

It’s a great place to take a break from sightseeing, recharge, enjoy something sweet, and experience something a little different from the usual tourist spots.
